We had some good entertainment one morning while we were at home. The squirrels has eaten a hole in the top of our 2-liter bird feed feeder and we caught this scoundrel feasting on the bird seed. I guess he couldn't be patient to get it a little bit at a time from the bottom. He went in upside down to eat for a few seconds and then came up for air to see if anyone was coming to eat him. He did this about 6 or 8 times and then we scared the heck out of him and he took off. Pictures of this fun time are below. It was the first pictures taken with our new camera! For our anniversary we got a Canon Rebel T3i with two lenses and we love it. These pictures were taken through the window screen with the telephoto lens.
Kinsey had her end of Kindergarten program which was really nice. They had a whole musical program that they had practiced and they did a really nice job with it. Part of the program were 'candy bar' awards where each kid received a themed candy bar where the teacher explained why they picked that candy bar for that student. Kinsey got a Life Saver award and the teacher said that she was such a big helper with some of the other kids that she was a life saver. Her last report card was excellent, she got above grade level marks in every category and here reading scores were well beyond what was needed to move on to the first grade.
Kinsey had a big time one evening last week as she finally decided to kick the training wheels to the curb and ride like a big girl. It took her about 3 or 4 tries before she was able to ride across the back yard without assistance. Before the end of the night she was riding circles around the back yard. Now she is practicing so she will be good enough to ride her bike to church on Sunday morning's with the boys.
The pool is finally open and warming up so the kids are making good use of that. Occasionally the parents do as well. The water temperature is climbing now that we have had a few days in a row above 90 degrees. The kids are enjoying their first week of summer vacation very much! Now on to the pictures...
